SAR Pittsburgh In Action

Honor Guard
The Anthony Wayne and Pittsburgh Color Guard was honored to be asked to participate in the funeral service for a 100-years-old WWII veteran

The gentleman was a Lt, USNR, Ret, and a SAR member. Rev. David Felts provided solace to the family, while the Color Guard, Veterans Honor Guard, and two Navy personnel provided honors. This included the presentation of the flag, sounding of taps, and a rifle salute. The service took place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

Eagle Scouts Reconized
Pittsburgh Chapter SAR President Jon Coulter awards SAR Certificates of Recognition to three new Eagle Scouts Troop 335

Troop 335 held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor. The Pittsburgh Chapter SAR presented certificates to the new Eagle Scouts. Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America. Since its inception in 1911, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank after a lengthy review process. State Representative Rob Mercuri presented the certificates to Eagle Scouts Will Shannon, Dylan Sienko, Ryan Hendron.

New Members
The National Society of the Sons of the American Pittsburgh Chapter welcomes new members

During the Fall meeting at the Saxonburg Hotel, Saxonburg, PA, compatriots Jeffrey Sink, Jason Miller, Jacob Hanson, and David Good were sworn in.

"We, descendants of the heroes of the American Revolution, who by their sacrifices, established the United States of America, reaffirm our faith in the principles of liberty and our Constitutional Republic, and solemnly pledge ourselves to defend them against every foe."
